"A few days ago we received our first mail from home since leaving the States the 1st of last April and included in my mail was the 'Y' News, which I have read from cover to cover and back again and it was never enjoyed more. It was doubly welcome and a relief to us to know that all was O.K. at home. We worry equally as much about our family and friends as they do about us. I am almost starting my 15th month aboard this ship and it is beginning to seem like home, but I can assure you, Home was never like this. " - Fred S. August 7, 1944
