The Oswego YMCA offers many fantastic opportunities for community development. Whether you lead an exercise class, read to a preschooler, coach a t-ball team, cook for a bake sale, design a program brochure, greet people at the front desk, serve as a role model for young people, help out at road races or be part of a group or committee, you make a big difference as you work with others to create a feeling of being connected to your community.

Available programs include:

Outreach

The Y reaches to outlying communities by offering youth sports programs and adult fitness classes. Contact our Youth Program Director for details.

Respite "Friends for Life"

The Oswego YMCA Respite Program promotes independence, inclusion and individualization by providing social/recreational activities for developmentally disabled children and adults. Activities are supervised by highly trained, caring staff for inclusion into existing YMCA programs such as: Swim Lessons, School's Out, Camp Ontario, Water Aerobics and Fitness Classes. Our Fitness Center also has a wheelchair accessible weight machine. The Y is handicap accessible on all three floors and there is a chair lift in our pool.
Contact Meg Henderson for details. (343-4321)

Rent the Y or the Armory

Are you looking for a place to hold that office, family or church gathering? You can rent the Y or Armory and use our pool, racquetball courts, gym, lounges or program room. There are facilities to accommodate all group sizes.

Contact Mike Perkins for details at 343-1981 or mperkins@oswegoymca.org .
