PHILOSOPHY

Oswego YMCA Early Childhood Enrichment program is a "learn through play" early childhood program for children 2-5 years of age.   Our program emphasizes developing positive social, emotional and physical skills.  We provide developmentally appropriate programming and activities which will build upon your child's physical and social skills.  Healthy lifestyles are promoted by offering nutritious snacks and by making physical activity a part of our daily routine. 

Many stimulating and educational activities will be offered to nurture children's social, emotional and cognitive growth.  Daily activities include centers, circle/calendar time, letter and number recognition, story time, pre-writing skill development, snack, creative art, music and gym.  The program also provides weekly learn to swim classes and water safety.  We will take an occasional fieldtrip which supports the classroom curriculum.

DAYS AND TIMES

The Osweg YMCA Early Childhood Enrichment Program will follow our 5 week class sessions offered during the academic school  year.  Sessions are as follows

• September 8th - October 12th
• October 13th - November 16th
• November 17th - December 16th
• November 17th - December 16th
• January 5th - February 8th
• February 9th - March 15th
• March 16th - April 19th
• April 20th - May 17th
• May 18th - June 21st

 

You may enroll your child for any session you choose.   Please note that we must have a minimum of 5 children enrolled each session to hold class.  Cancellation of a class session will be made the Friday prior to class beginnning, should we lack in enrollment.

Two year old classes are held Tuesday and Thursdays from 9:30am-11:00am.  Thursdays we will offer a swim lesson from 11:00 am until 12 noon which will require parent/guardian participation for children in the 2 year old enrichment program.

Three/Four year old classes are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 9:30 - 12:00pm or 12:30 - 3:00pm.  Three/Four year old class will swim each Wednesday from 11:00-12:00noon (am session) or 2:00pm-3:00pm (afternoon session).
