Reindeer Run 5K Walk/Run Sponsored in part by Pathfinder Bank

Again this December, the Oswego YMCA is proud to announce that the 20th Annual Reindeer run/walk is sponsored in part by Pathfinder Bank. 

On Saturday, December 5, 2009 the Oswego YMCA Reindeer Run will begin at 9:30am and will start with an official "Ho Ho Ho ... Go" by Santa! 

The Reindeer Run is designed to be a 5K (3.1 miles) "fun run" so NO RACE TIMES WILL BE RECORDED.

If running is not your bag, you can walk the course.  Everyone is encourage to dress-up in your best holiday gear.

A sleigh-measured 5K (3.1 miles) route travels through the streets of downtown Oswego.  (Streets will NOT be closed to traffic) It is the responsibility of each participant to know the race course.

Registration for the Reindeer Run is available by mail, in-person or online by using the link at the bottom of the page.

There is a $15 non-refundable registration fee and $5 for students in elementary schools, middle schools, high schools and college.  (students must submit a copy of student id with registration.) 

You can register at the Oswego YMCA by phone (315) 343-1981 or in person at 249 W. 1st Street and you can do so up until 8:00 pm on December 4th.  Please be advised that if you register for one event and you want to change over to another a $5.00 fee will be charged for changing.  Please be careful and read the registration forms when filling them out so that you do not select the wrong event.

SAME DAY REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE!

Family, friends, clubs, corporations and organizations with 5 or more members may register as a team.  Each member must fill-out a seperate registration form and the **Team Captain must submit all forms together, with payment.** The cost for each team member is $15.

Long sleeve shirts to the first 200 entrants registered by November 9th.

Prizes (not trophies) will be awarded to the first, second and third place male and female walkers and runners and the first place harnessed team (min. of 3 max of 8). 

A display clock will be at the finish line, so watch your time.  (Must be present to get times)

Packet pick-up begins on Wednesday Wednesday, December 2nd at the Oswego YMCA from 7:00 am until 9:00 pm

If a 2XL is needed please make sure you get your registration no later than November 9th. We will not order bigger sizes if the request isn't in early.

The race will culminate inside the Armory with light refreshments.

We encourage all participants, volunteers and spectators to support the Oswego YMCA's Adopt a family program by bringing a new, unwrapped toy to the race.  All toys will be given to a child in need in our local area.  If it's in your heart, do remember to bring a new, non-gift wrapped toy for children age infant to teen.
