Volunteer Membership Information
also know as "WORKING MEMBERS"
OVERVIEW
All single adult or family benefits. Volunteers and working members are the backbone of our organization. It is important to note that we rely on our working members just as much as we do our paid staff. Working members perform their duties in exchange for membership benefits. Working members may choose a single adult, one parent family, full family or other agreed upon membership. The options of working for a membership include; working for the entire membership or working for ahlf and paying for the other half. Provisions may be made for the division of hours between adult family members.

TRAINING AND MEETINGS
It is imperative to this organization that you are well informed in the carrying out of your duties. Training for your particular position will beprovided by your direct supervisor. CPR certification is required for all Oswego YMCA staff and is provided on a quarterly basis. Additional certifications may be required depending on your position and your supervisor will provide the needed information for that. Meetings are mandatory to insure that you receive continuing education in your paraticular area. Check with your supervisor on these areas.
TIMECARD
In order to get credit for the hours that you work, it is important that you fill out a timecard located behind the front desk. Hours are tallied at the end of each week and if there is a deficit in your hours, it is up to you to make up the difference. You may count trainings, meetings, subbing, viewing training videos, committee work, checking memberships at the door, Special Events and anything extra that you do for the Y. All information needs to be documented on the back of the timecard each week whenever you do any of these extra things.
TERMINATION OF POSITION
If there comes a time when you no longer hold your position at the YMCA, your membership will no longer be in effect.
Helps to fill the gap between what families can afford and what the program or membership costs the Y.
